What We’re Celebrating – Wins and Bright Spots in the Produce & Food Service Industries This Year
While 2025 has brought its share of challenges, it has also been a year filled with important progress across the produce and food service industries in California. As we close out the year, it’s worth shining a light on the accomplishments and innovations that have strengthened operations and supported workers throughout the state.
Many employers made significant strides in employee safety and workplace modernization. From new training initiatives to the adoption of improved scheduling and compliance systems, businesses stepped up to create safer, more predictable environments for their teams. Others embraced sustainable farming practices, investing in water-efficient technologies, waste reduction systems, and energy-smart equipment.
Innovation also flourished this year. Automated packing tools, AI-supported forecasting, and advancements in cold-chain management helped companies stay efficient during peak demand. And through all of this, California farmers and food service teams remained committed to quality — ensuring grocery stores, markets, and communities stayed well supplied.
In a season focused on gratitude, these bright spots remind us how much there is to appreciate. Progress doesn’t always happen loudly — but this year, it happened in meaningful ways across our industry.
