It’s Time to Refresh Your Mandatory Labor Law Posters
With the arrival of 2026, it’s critical to make sure your labor law posters are current and properly displayed. California employers are required to post a wide range of notices — and missing or outdated postings can lead to costly penalties.
What to check:
• State and federal updates
Make sure posters reflect 2026 changes, including updates to minimum wage, paid sick leave, and family rights.
• Local ordinances
Many cities and counties — including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego — have their own notice requirements.
• Remote workers
If you have remote or hybrid employees, California requires that digital versions of labor law posters be made accessible electronically.
• Location and visibility
Posters must be placed in conspicuous locations frequented by employees — such as break rooms, entrances, or clock-in areas.
A new year is the perfect time to audit your compliance wall and ensure every required notice is accurate and up to date.
